Stone rows and passage grave
Carnac, Morbihan

These are hugely impressive stones, particularly the ones to the west near the visitor center. There are a few stopping places along the road and the first one we tried was near a tower that you can climb to get a better view of the rows. The only problem is that a pine tree obscures the view so you have to make do with looking over the fence.

Views to the west

About midway along the row is a path between the fence leading to a souvenir shop that offers good views along the lines of the stones to west and east.

There are seven main rows here with some 1029 stones arranged in a WSW to ENE orientation. They stretch for over a kilometer. The stones are highest to the west and some are huge. Aerial photography revealed the existence of a circle to the east.
