Ballymeanoch Kerb Cairn and barrow NR 833 964 This is clearly visible from the standing stones. It is only 30m NE from them in the corner of the field. The ditch beside it has damaged the eastern arc where stones are missing. Only 11 stones remain in this 7m diameter cairn and the tallest is 1.4m high.
Just 135m beyond the cairn can be seen a large grassy mound that is believed to be a barrow measuring 30m across and 1.4m high. A layer of charcoal was found at a depth of 1m down in the barrow but no evidence of cists or burials was found.

The fallen stone overgrown in the ditch The fallen stone that was moved can be seen beyond the kerb cairn laying partly overgrown in the ditch. It was originally 2.85m high and has a hole that was through the middle and is believed to have been at least partly man made. It also has several cupmarks. |
