Castlehowe
Stone Circle
NY 588 156

Take the road east out of Shap to Crosby Ravensworth and cross over the motorway. You will pass two more of the Thunderstones on the right before reaching a right turn by some woods on the right.

Thunder Stone

The circle is in the field on the right but the gate is padlocked. You can see the circle from over the wall of the next field but barbed wire prevents access. There are nine boulder-like stones in this circle with the largest being about 3 feet (1 metre) high to the east. It is a small circle measuring about 25 feet (7.5 metres) diameter.
