Dyffryn
Ardudwy This site is worth
visiting and consists of a pair of burial chambers. It is found by
returning to the A496 and turning right. Go for about ¼ mile and just
before a garage on the right and a Spar shop on the left look for a sign
to the site and footpath takes you there in a short distance. (The
footpath on the OS map leading from the lane to Ffridd Newydd has been cut
off so this is the best way to get to the chambers.)
This site has two internal structures that have been exposed by excavation. The first is an earlier portal dolmen type tomb on an originally roughly circular mound which was later incorporated with a long mound with a rectangular chamber at the other end.

showing the entrances and standing stone The site would have been covered with a cairn of stones. Both entrances face approximately east and there is a 4 foot (1.3 metre) standing stone in front of the rectangular chamber.
