Five Wells Take the A515 from Buxton towards Ashbourne and after a few miles take the left turn signed Chelmorton onto the A5270. After 1 mile take the right turn signed Chelmorton and continue to the second crossroads where you turn left. When you come to a bend to the right with a left turn park where it is safe. Walk up the left lane and where this turns towards the farm carry straight on along the grassy tack ahead. It is signed to Five Wells. Follow the signs to turn east using the gaps in the walls to reach the site.
The east chamber

Only part of this chambered tomb survives, most of the mound has been removed but it is still recognizable. Two chambers can be seen, aligned east to west, the east section is most intact and is made up of three large limestone slabs forming the chamber with two 1.5m portal stones at the east entrance. The site is high up on the moor in a commanding position with views to the valley below.
