This can be a circular walk that passes a stone circle, two cairn circles
and about seven standing stones. It is best started from the Llanfair side
of Harlech but in January 2001 the access lane was closed from that side
so you have to come from Eisingrug (as for Bryn Cader Faner)
Directions Stone
Circle From Eisingrug take the
right turn into the lane signed Llanfair. Drive for a couple of miles on
this narrow lane passing through three gates. Continue to a left turn
signed Cwm Bychan, turn left and continue for about ¾ mile and after an
old house on the left watch for a footpath sign on the right. Stop here
and park on the verge near the gate on the left. (You can turn a car a
little further down the lane) The footpath sign on the left has gone. Go
through the gate and head east along the grass track as it bends uphill
veering NE. After about ¼ mile you will come to a small circle just after
a rocky outcrop.

The circle is another one in
a lovely location with views of Tremadog Bay to the west and mountains to
the east. It appears to have been constructed on a low cairn and there are
about nine standing stones in the 15 foot (4.5 metre) diameter circle with
a depression in the centre. The tallest is about 4 feet (1.2 metres) high
on the NNE side. Some low partly buried stones extending in a “verge”
for about 2 metres from the circle surround the structure. Possibly
another outer structure might have been here at one time, there are a lot
of large stones in a nearby stone wall. There is also the remains of a
possible stone row nearby.
