Cairn circle

This is about 300m NNW of the Brisworthy stone circle and makes an
impressive sight on the skyline. Also restored in the same year as
Brisworthy in 1909 the circle is 40ft (12.7m) diameter and consists of 11
granite stones. Not all of the stones are thought to have been original to
the circle and were collected from nearby.
Stretching from the circle is a long stone row, in places double, heading off towards the NNE. We walked the 530m length of it to the terminal stone and the views back towards the cairn are worth it. Some of the stones in the row are quite substantial at about 1m high.

The terminal stone has animal trails radiating out from it that makes an interesting effect on the moor, it is probably because it is a mini waterhole.

Kerb cairn

Continue in line with Brisworthy for another 250m from the cairn circle
and you will come to a small kerb cairn.

It almost appears modern and several of the stones are small and loose. The circle is about 12ft (3.6m) across and we counted 19 fairly solid stones. They are a darker granite again with quartz veins. We have seen a few outcrops of this granite around here with quartz intrusions.
The view back towards Brisworthy is very pleasant and this is another enjoyable walk.
