Delfour
Ring Cairn
NH 844 086

About 4 miles south of Aviemore on the A6 take a right turn into a farm track at NH 853 089. Follow this lane around a couple of bends and you will see the circle set in a field on the left. A stile provides access. (If you miss this lane you will come to a sign for Alvie House so you will have to turn and go back. It is not easy to find as this is a very fast road)

Delfour

This is an excellent site to visit, the scenery is beautiful with the stones set against the distant mountains. The cairn is in good condition and is about 18m across.

To the southwest is a large standing stone nearly 10ft (3m) high that dominates the site and might be an outlier like the one we saw earlier at Culdioch near the Clava cairns. This site is well worth a visit.
